Blackbeard Blackbeard is a very special kitten who was found under a mobile home with his brother Black Bart and two sisters Queen Anne and Princess. All four kittens were very sick with pneumonia. They were unable to breathe due to cakey, runny noses and they were completely blind as all of their eyes were swollen and sealed shut with infection. Blackbeard's left eye was like a grape protruding out from his dirty, crusty little face! Lucky for them, Blackbeard's family was rescued and brought into foster care. He and his siblings were treated for upper respiratory infections (URI) and severe conjunctivitis. Blackbeard was also being treated for a ruptured eye!...All results of being born in to deplorable outdoor conditions where they did not receive any care from the humans in their community. After some intensive TLC, several baths, antibiotics, flea treatment and lots of time to recuperate in a warm, cozy foster home, Blackbeard and his siblings were all adopted! Blackbeard in particular is sooo playful. He LOVES people and being snuggled. He insists on sleeping curled up next to his humans. And, he loves to play play play! He's a special, adorable, spunky little guy! Thanks to public donations, Blackbeard was able to have enucleation surgery on June 18, 2007, a procedure in which he had the remains of his ruptured eye completely removed and the socket cleaned and properly closed. He made it through surgery with flying colors. Blackbeard thanks everyone VERY MUCH for their support! And most of all, he thanks his new family for giving him a new loving forever home where he gets lots of love from his humans and has other kitty companions to ambush! :) PS: Blackbeard's feral mom and dad were trapped, spayed / neutered and returned to their home. Mama and Papa tested negative for FeLV/FIV, were vaccinated and microchipped by IBOK Rescue and are now being cared for by humans in their community. Their caretakers reported that both kitties are doing well and seem to be "in love".
Zeke The boys are in COMPLETE control! When we find a contest for the cutest and smartest cats, we will enter them. Zach is still the big guy and Zeke's the little guy and I think they will always be that way. Murphy has accepted them completely now (or maybe he has just given up on an uninterrupted peaceful sleep!); they often wrestle and nap together. We often wonder how brother Zorro is doing. If you ever get pictures of him we'd love to seen them. Feel free to forward our shots to Zorro's humans. Have a great Holiday Season! Jim & Joyce
Flurry Update from Flurry and Glacier's adopters! The girls are doing great, getting bigger all the time. They are both little rascals that love to do naughty things. They discovered toilet paper last week and must have had a fun day decorating our apartment with it. We love them both so much - they get more and more affectionate every day. I've included some recent pictures we recently took that I think you'll enjoy. Thanks so much for bringing our little ladies into our lives, Amanda and Tom
Malcolm Dear IBOK Rescue: Malcolm and Oberon are great! They are two of the most wonderful kitties that I have had the pleasure of meeting ! I love them very much and they are growing healthy and happy. When you first required them to be adopted as a pair I was a little reluctant to adopt 2 kitties at once, but after a few days I was very happy I did. They truly are a pair of kitties. One kitty would be lost without the other. I cannot emphsize to you how much having those 2 wonderful kitties has ment to me. I lost my 17 year old kitty, Mitten last month and it has been difficult dealing with that loss. Malcolm and Oberon's love has really helped me deal with the loss of my old friend. It's means the world to me to have them greet me in the morning when I get up and when I get home. They both are very social and loving kitties. You can tell they were raised with allot of love. I will be sending you a Christmas card soon with photos. Again, I cannot thank enough for the love you brought into our families life by allowing us to adopt Malcolm and Oberon. Sincerely Alan
Tinkerbell ("Bella") Tink is a sweet heart and playful. It's so funny watching Dave and Tink play tag with each other. Folks always comment on how friendly Tink is (as she rolls over for a tummy rub) and how soft she is. We're so lucky to have her. Thank you for bringing her into our lives. We're all totally smitten.
